The Commissioner of Police in a press conference in Osogbo reported a robbery gang that was caught with a large sum of money and guns. There names are Aderibigbe Oluwaseun, Ndubisi David, Ayuba Abubakar Saliu, and Nuhu Jimoh.
This gang robbed two banks and were about going away with about 7, 486, 300 before they were caught by the Police. It was a tough one as these robbers exchanged series of gunshots with the police officers but the officers were able to overpower them.
Aside from the money, they were also able to recover the three AK47 and one hundred and twenty four (124) rounds of live ammunition as well as a Nissan car the robbers use for their operations.
The police public relation officer, ASP Folashade Odoro disclosed that the robbers are really notorious robbers. They came for the operation fully armed. The officer explained that they planted explosives at different strategic location. However the police were swift in their response and exhibited professionalism in overcoming these robbers. She added that the police anti- squad team were able to detect those explosives and deactivated them in the shortest possible time.

Further investigation revealed that the robbers were from Kogi and Benue State but travelled down to Osun to execute their criminal act after speaking extensively with their informants.
The two banks that were attacked are along Ekeinde road in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government area. It was a gloomy Friday as some Bank officials lost their life during exchange of bullets between the police and the robbers.
